SS 309S / SS 309H Pipe & Tubing

Alloys 309 and 309S are austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel steels that will be commonly used for much higher temperature applications. Because of their higher chromium and also nickel content, Alloys 309 and also 309S are high rust resistant, have excellent resistance to oxidation, and also outstanding heat resistance when offering good energy at room and increased temperature ranges. The only major difference between 309 with 309S is the carbon content. Alloy 309S have a very much less carbon components which decreases carbide precipitation and also enhances weldability.

Applications:
Alloys 309 with 309S are utilized primarily for their high-temperature oxidation resilience, outstanding high temperatures energy, together with their resistance to creep deformation and also environment attack. A few examples include, but are not restricted to:
• Heating components
• Aircraft and also jet engine parts
• Heat exchangers
• Carburizing annealing products
• Sulfite liquor managing machine
• Kiln liners
• Boiler baffles
• Refinery and also chemical processing machines
• Auto exhaust components
